Bucklands Beach cleanup T3

BUCKLANDS BEACH CLEANUP

During Term 3, The Year 4s went to Bucklands Beach to clean up the beach.
We got 70 kg of rubbish picked up from part of the beach. That
 was AMAZING!!  We played mini-games about Beach cleanup too!!
I had lots of fun at Bucklands beach. The trip was awesome! I wish
to go to Bucklands Beach for a cleanup again..

Tiritiri Matangi Island T3

Tiritiri Matangi Island

During Term 3 The year 4s went to the island Tiritiri Matangi.
I was with a volunteer named Karin.
My favourite part of the trip was when we saw lots of native birds.
  I saw some year 4s behind and in front of my group.
I had lots of fun at Tiritiri Matangi Island, I wish to go there again.

TIME REFLECTION

I am learning to tell the time on an analogue clock.
It was tricky to find out what the time was.
I am proud that I worked out some analogue times.
Next I will work out more analogue times.

Narrative

NARRATIVE REFLECTION

I was learning how to write a narrative.
It was tricky to try and memorize "The elves and the shoemaker".
I was proud of when I memorized the story.
Next I could write more stories.

Term 3 Beach Cleanup

This is me and some other Room 14 people
cleaning up Bucklands Beach.  I was having some
trouble finding rubbish to put into the rubbish bag.
Some other Year 4s were cleaning up the beach.

Fractions

Reflection:
I am learning to recognise fractions
of shapes and groups.  I found it tricky to
know which number is the numerator and
which is the denominator.  I am proud
that I'm learning more about fractions.  
Next, I should learn more about equivalent fractions.

Features of a Non-fiction text

FEATURES OF A NON-FICTION TEXT

1. The contents page is after the title page of the book.

2. The index page is at the end of the book.

3. The glossary is before the index and gives the meaning of some words.

4. There are mainly photographs because non-fiction means true.

5. Some diagrams have labels to explain the diagram.

My Reflection: I am learning about the features of a non-fiction text/book.  I found it tricky
when I didn't know why diagrams have labels.  I was proud when I figured out the features of a non-fiction text/book.  What I should do next is to use this knowledge  in my own non-fiction books.

I was learning to describe 2D shapes.  I found it tricky to think of four 2D shapes to put into
my work.  I found it tricky to count the sides and angles of the triangle.

It was tricky to know which

Now I am proud that I'm using a

Lolly Lei

I made a Lolly Lei with Gabriel before the school gala.  He did the knots while I put in the lollies.
I dragged the lollies if they weren't where they were.  We had to make 2 Lolly Leis.
It was really easy except for dragging the lollies.
